Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), a GMR Infrastructure Ltd.-led consortium, today announced that it has signed an agreement with the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) to enhance passenger experience and operational excellence by leveraging AI-based predictive analytics. The agreement has been inked for a period of five years. CEO-DIAL, Mr. Videh Kumar Jaipuriar and Dean, Corporate Relations, IIT Delhi Professor Anurag Rathore signed the agreement on February 21.
A team from IIT Delhi, through the Institute’s industrial interface body – Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT), will carry out AI-based predictive analytics on identified areas of improvement and come up with next-level innovative solutions. This engagement shall benefit DIAL in improvised allocation/utilization of its operational resources on a dynamic basis in response to varied passenger load and requirements throughout daily and periodic fluctuations.
Additionally, it will also help in better understanding of customer preferences and accordingly help DIAL design and deliver more customized offerings and services for passengers flying through IGI Airport thereby enhancing the overall passenger experience.
Speaking on the occasion, CEO-DIAL Mr. Videh Kumar Jaipuriar said, “DIAL has decided to avail the services of IIT Delhi (through FITT) for securing research-based recommendations on further enhancement in operational excellence and passenger experience at IGI Airport. We continue to consistently upgrade our facilities to better respond to consumer preferences whilst providing world-class infrastructure and experience to all our passengers.”
Commenting on the agreement, Prof Anurag Rathore, Dean, Corporate Relations, IIT Delhi said, “We are happy to be associated with DIAL and look forward to exploring more collaboration channels of mutual interest that will fuel innovation and ideation of novel technologies and products.”
IGI Airport is a pioneer in offering quality services with the optimal use of resources and technology. The airport has already implemented several passenger-friendly measures such as contactless elevators, contactless information desks, contactless boarding facilities, promotion of digital transactions, UV sanitization of passenger baggage to name a few, to enhance their experience.
