On 9 September 2022, Dr Vivek Lall, Chief Executive of General Atomics Global Corporation, San Diego, California, visited the National Forensic Sciences University in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India.
Dr Vivek Lall is a well-known scientist who serves on the International Advisory Group of Commerce in Washington DC, and the Board of Directors of the US India Business Council in Washington DC. He was Vice President of Aeronautics Strategy and Business Development at Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth, Texas.
Dr Lall spoke with university officials about the specialised technology fields where India and the USA could cooperate. Dr Lall and an NFSU subject matter expert thoroughly discussed digital forensics, artificial intelligence, cyber security, and nuclear forensics. Dr Lall visited the centre for excellence in cyber security and appreciated the university’s initiatives in verticals like Operational Technology (OT) and Internet of Things (IoT).
He also spoke to university students, emphasising the importance of critical technologies such as automobiles, the energy industry, electronics, the metaverse, artificial intelligence, unmanned aircraft, brain-computer interface, and the gap between technological advancement and policymaking. Additionally, he discussed government cooperation in sharing military intelligence and areas of interest for Indo-US collaboration.
