Defence Ministry Hosts Workshop To Streamline Equipment Trials

The Ministry of Defence’s Acquisition Wing organised a one-day workshop on ‘Simplification of Trial Processes for Defence Equipment’ at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi. The workshop was designed to facilitate an open exchange of ideas among all stakeholders involved in the trials of defence equipment before their induction into the armed forces. The event is in line with the government’s Make in India vision.

Defence Secretary Giridhar Armane emphasised the significance of a simplified trial process for defence equipment during his opening address. The workshop was attended by senior officials from the MoD, the three Services, and several professionals from the industry. Additionally, representatives from the Department of Defence Production (DDP), Defence Public Service Undertakings (DPSUs), Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).

Furthermore, various evaluating agencies such as the Directorate General of Quality Assurance (DGQA), Directorate General of Aeronautical Quality Assurance (DGAQA), Centre for Military Airworthiness and Certification (CEMILAC) and, Armament & Combat Engineering Systems (ACE), Mhow also took part in the interactive sessions.
