Star Air, a Bengaluru-based aviation company owned by Ghodawat Enterprises Private Limited is disrupting the Indian aviation industry with its unprecedented offering of business-class seating on regional flights. This bold move, aimed at elevating the passenger experience, sets Star Air apart from its competitors and signals its determination to make a lasting impact in the market.
In a strategic expansion plan, Star Air is also increasing its network coverage from major metropolitan cities across India. This expansion not only enhances its market presence but also positions the airline as a formidable player in the industry.
To bolster its fleet and support its ambitious growth trajectory, Star Air has recently acquired an Embraer E175, a notable addition to its existing fleet of five aircraft. The company’s future plans include further augmenting its fleet with two additional Embraer E175 planes in 2023. The E175, known for its exceptional performance, features 12 business class and 64 economy seats, offering passengers a wider range of choices tailored to their preferences.
Setting itself apart from conventional turboprop airplanes like the ATR, Star Air’s adoption of the Embraer E145 and E175, with their jet engine-powered propulsion, promises a superior level of passenger comfort, especially on slightly longer flights. This emphasis on passenger satisfaction underscores Star Air’s commitment to delivering an elevated travel experience and solidifying its reputation as an airline that prioritises customer needs.
Star Air’s CEO, Simran Singh Tiwana, underscores the competitive edge provided by their selected aircraft, emphasizing their strategic approach of linking slightly longer routes that are ideally suited for air travel. Tiwana believes this sets them apart from turboprop planes and grants them a connectivity advantage. Despite the higher expenses associated with these aircraft in comparison to ATR planes, Star Air remains resolute in its dedication to passenger comfort and dependability, as expressed by the CEO.
The airline’s visionary move to introduce business class seating and expand its network reflects the company’s dedication to meeting the evolving expectations of discerning passengers in the Indian aviation market. By focusing on connectivity, superior passenger experience, and reliability, Star Air is poised to strengthen its position as an industry leader, carving a distinct niche in the competitive landscape of Indian aviation
