The Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) exhibition in London has long been a platform for nations to flaunt their military and technological strengths. This year, India’s presence at DSEI is particularly notable, signalling its growing ambitions and the evolving trajectory of its defence industry.

Overseen by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and backed by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the India Pavilion is not merely a display. It’s a hub for fostering partnerships, promoting growth, and facilitating global integration.
Both public and private sectors from India are collaborating to present the nation’s finest. State-backed entities like Munitions India Limited and Yantra India Limited stand alongside private-sector powerhouses such as Hughes Precision Manufacturing Private Limited and MKU Limited, among others.
Hughes Precision, renowned for its NATO and Russian standard ammunition, and MKU Limited, a brand synonymous with optronics and ballistic protection, are prime examples of India’s defence manufacturing prowess. Other key exhibitors, Turbo India Interconnect Solutions Pvt Ltd and XS Productions Pvt Ltd reflect the broad spectrum of defence-related products, highlighting India’s capabilities beyond weapons and armaments.
Spotlight On India
With DSEI 2023 just around the corner, the India Pavilion is the epicentre of domestic industry anticipation. It is seen as a testament to India’s expanding defence capabilities and global aspirations. The Ministry of Defence (MoD), with its allocated 216m² space at H4-315, anchors this representation, highlighting the nation’s dual role as a significant defence market and an innovative manufacturer.
The aforementioned state-backed entities, like Munitions India and Yantra India, reflect the country’s commitment to modernising its ordnance capabilities. Their emergence, especially after restructuring the Ordnance Factory Board (OFB), underscores India’s global defence aspirations and quality revamp.
