LONDON – In an unprecedented alliance, defence giants Northrop Grumman Corporation and Serco have formalised a strategic teaming agreement. Their objective: to propel live, virtual, and constructive (LVC) collective training for the British Army’s Collective Training Transformation Programme (CTTP).
Northrop Grumman, a prominent figure in the defence landscape, has orchestrated intricate, collective training exercises which have seen the British Army’s involvement for more than a decade. This year’s instalment witnessed the active participation of 1,500 British troops. By expertly integrating immersive training environments that simulate real-world confrontations, Northrop Grumman enables military personnel to hone their capabilities in risk-free yet challenging conditions.
Serco, a behemoth in public service provision, offers an array of training, engineering, and infrastructure solutions. Their vast portfolio includes infrastructure management for airports, ports, and military bases, establishing them as a trusted partner for the British Armed Forces in their training endeavours.
Nick Chaffey, Chief Executive of Northrop Grumman UK, expressed confidence in the collaboration, stating, “Our track record with the U.S. military and collective training methodologies already has a significant British Army footprint. Paired with Serco’s robust defence services expertise, our alliance is poised to architect transformative training solutions for the British military.”

CTTP’s Visionary Blueprint
The CTTP envisions a future where synthetic training environments, fortified by advanced data and connectivity protocols, evolve into the Army Collective Training Service (ACTS). This cutting-edge system seeks to groom the British Army for future battlespace complexities.
