The MoU was signed today. The Brazilian Embassy in New Delhi served as the site of the MoU’s signing.
We are delighted to announce the signing of this MoU with Mahindra. Embraer Defence & Security President & CEO Bosco da Costa Junior stated, “We have chosen Mahindra as our partner to jointly pursue the MTA programme.” He went on to say that India’s defence and aerospace industries are varied and robust. Embraer sees India as a vital market, and the country’s aspirations for “Atmanirbhar Bharat” have our full backing. In our view, this collaboration represents a step towards closer ties between India and Brazil and an opportunity to encourage collaboration among countries in the Global South.
In order to determine the future of the MTA programme, Embraer and Mahindra will collaborate with the Indian Air Force. They will also reach out to the local aerospace sector in India to begin formulating the project’s industrialization strategy.
Our company is pleased to begin this collaboration with Embraer, a firm renowned for its engineering prowess and a distinctive portfolio of aircraft and technologies,” stated Mr. Vinod Sahay, President Aerospace & Defence Sector and Member of Mahindra’s Group Executive Board. We are confident that this partnership will enhance the operational capabilities of the Indian Air Force and offer a cost-effective industrialization solution that perfectly aligns with the goals of Make in India. The C-390 Millennium is the most advanced military airlifter currently available.

Whether it’s for military, commercial, or executive flights, Embraer is well-established in India. A C-390 Millennium Day was hosted by Embraer in New Delhi, India in August 2023 with the aim of strengthening ties with the local aerospace sector. The event was well-attended by the ecosystem in India.
With its low operating costs, high productivity, and operational flexibility, the C-390 Millennium multi-mission tactical transport aircraft provides unrivaled mobility.
India will have access to cutting-edge aerospace and military transport aircraft technologies thanks to the C-390 Millennium partnership. Embraer and Mahindra are both looking into the possibility of making India the regional hub for C-390 aircraft.
