Operation Cloudburst: Assam Rifles Recovered Arms & Ammunition Along The Indo-Myanmar Border In Nagaland

The seizure of a wide variety of weaponry, including eleven 82 mm mortars, four RCL tubes, ten pistols, and ninety-nine radio sets and satellite phones, was done by the Security Forces. A codename for the operation was Cloudburst.

The Assam Rifles, acting on specific intelligence, seized a large cache of weapons, ammunition, and other warlike items along the Indo-Myanmar border in Nagaland’s Mon district on April 29, 24.

An early morning search operation yielded the capture of one person and the recovery of a large quantity of weapons and ammunition, including eleven mortar tubes (81 mm), four 106 mm tubes, ten pistols, one satellite phone, one Bolero vehicle, one Kenbo bike, and 198 handheld radio sets.

Assam Rifles have achieved a significant victory in their ongoing border sealing operation with the seizure of these large calibre, military-grade weaponry along the border. Additionally, the recovery deals a heavy blow to the evil plots of those who would disrupt the calm in the region. The approximately 200 handheld radio sets and military-grade firearms found during the search point to the potential harm and malicious intent of these weapons.

The Nagaland Police have been provided with the recovered stuff and the person who was caught.

From a national security standpoint, the alert troops of the Assam Rifles have successfully foiled the plans of illegal elements via this retrieval.
