Heligo & Airbus Helicopters Bring H145 To India’s Energy Sector

By Staff Correspondent

Airbus Helicopters’ H145 has made its debut in India’s energy industry through a partnership with Heligo Charters Private Limited (HCPL). The initial deployment of these helicopters has been carried out for offshore transportation in collaboration with the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC).

HCPL is an Indian operator that offers helicopter support services both onshore and offshore. They provide offshore helicopter services specifically to the oil and gas sector in India, along with other businesses. The H145’s introduction into offshore operations occurred six months after HCPL entered into a complete by-the-hour services contract with Airbus for six H145 helicopters in January 2024. HCPL will utilize these helicopters for the purpose of conveying ONGC personnel and materials to offshore sites throughout the subcontinent.

With the cutting-edge H145 helicopter, which offers unparalleled dependability and technical advantage, we are proud to offer our clients increased operating efficiency. The choice of the five-bladed H145 for offshore operations showcases the dedication of HCPL and Airbus to provide the highest quality equipment to the Indian offshore industry, guaranteeing both safety and operational effectiveness. The H145 is an optimal selection for our offshore operations because to its remarkable performance, dependability, and adaptability. Mr. Nayan Jagjeevan, Chairman & Managing Director of HCPL, expressed anticipation for the ongoing collaboration with Airbus as they begin using the H145 in conjunction with ONGC.

Today is a momentous day for the H145 in India, as it begins a new endeavour to provide offshore transportation services for the Indian energy sector. We are pleased and grateful for HCPL’s trust in us as they become the first client to use the H145 helicopter for oil and gas activities in India. The H145 is a highly adaptable aircraft with inherent mission capability and adaptability, particularly in challenging altitude and hot operating circumstances. “The H145 is expected to be a valuable addition to Heligo’s offshore operations in the country,” stated Sunny Guglani, the Head of Airbus Helicopters, India and South Asia.

The H145 is the most recent addition to Airbus’s lineup of twin-engine rotorcraft, specifically engineered to excel in mission capability and adaptability, especially in challenging altitude and hot operating circumstances. This helicopter is compact and has a modest size. It has a big and flexible cabin, which allows it to manoeuvre easily in complicated conditions like oil and gas helidecks.
