Dras Thunder Motorcycle Rally Flagged In

Kargil Vijay Diwas Rajat Jayanti was commemorated with the Dras Thunder Motorcycle Rally, which took place from June 13th to the 20th, 2024. A magnificent flag-in ceremony was held to honour the conclusion of the rally at the Kargil War Memorial, capping off the remarkable journey. Dras. Lt Gen Rashim Bali, General Officer Commanding, 14 Corps, presided over the occasion.

From New Delhi, Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi, VCOAS, gave the rally’s ceremonial start signal on June 13, 2024. As it passed through important sites on its way to the Kargil War Memorial, it hoped to convey themes of bravery and the sacrifices made by troops. While in town for the event, the group gave inspiring speeches at several prestigious schools, such as Chandigarh’s DAV College, Jalandhar’s LPU, Jammu’s IIT, and Srinagar’s APS Badami Bagh Cantt. The goal of these gatherings was to motivate the younger generation to serve their country with honour and commitment. In Dinanagar and Jammu, the group also met with Veer Naris and Next of Kin (NoK) to express their condolences and appreciation for the heroic sacrifices made by the fallen troops and their families.

Lt Gen Rashim Bali praised the participants for their enthusiasm and commitment in his speech, highlighting the significance of these events in promoting national cohesion and patriotism. The event ended with a solemn act of placing a wreath at the Kargil War Memorial, honouring the brave soldiers who lost their lives.    

The Dras Thunder Motorcycle Rally serves as a compelling monument to the resilient determination of the Indian Armed Forces and their steadfast dedication to the nation.
