Deutsche Aircraft Updates D328eco™ Regional Turboprop Service Entry Timeline

By Staff Correspondent

Deutsche Aircraft, a forerunner in the German OEM market, has announced an updated EIS schedule for the D328eco, a 40-seat regional turboprop. Now the plane is scheduled to go into EIS in Q4 of 2027. Regulatory changes need a thorough certification procedure and related compliance requirements, necessitating revisions to the schedule.

The aviation value chain, important stakeholders, consumers, and prospective operators were all heavily involved in the evaluation process that resulted in this upgrade. While there are several factors at play here, one of them is that Deutsche Aircraft will be able to upgrade and add new capabilities to the new regional turboprop thanks to the rescheduled EIS.

Regarding the most recent advancements in the D328eco project, Deutsche Aircraft maintains tight collaboration with present and future operators and suppliers. An evaluation is underway for a number of additional features and capabilities; one of them is an enhancement to the STOL (Short Take-off and Landing) performance, particularly in non-benign operational circumstances, when upgraded avionics are implemented. These updates will bring the D328eco up to even higher standards of market need and alignment for commercial and multi-role operators while staying within the current certification and programme framework.

Deutsche Aircraft is pleased with the outstanding support it has received from industry stakeholders and business partners, even if the worldwide aircraft manufacturing supply chain is still under a lot of strain. In the aviation value chain, these alliances continue to be very solid and good, which allows the plan to advance.

Deutsche Aircraft CEO Dave Jackson is pleased with the program’s tremendous progress so far: certification panels with EASA are advancing successfully, construction of the Final Assembly Line in Leipzig has begun, and the company has secured over 95% of its suppliers, including those providing access to strategic growth markets. “We are taking this opportunity to investigate further product enhancements,” Jackson adds, adding that they had to realign the EIS for their D328eco. At the next Farnborough International Airshow, we will be unveiling further milestones.

Incorporating cutting-edge features like a state-of-the-art Garmin avionics suite and PW127XT-S engines that will be fully compatible with SAF-PtL at EIS, the new D328eco takes market leadership from the well-known in-service D328-100. Thanks to these upgrades, the D328eco is a state-of-the-art turboprop built for the modern era, prepared to take flight in the years to come. The continuous interest and demand for the D328eco from various market groups is of the utmost importance to us.

Without the hard work of our employees, the backing of our business associates, and the heavy participation of regional and multi-role operators in the creation of our products, none of this would have been possible.

The D328eco, built by Deutsche Aircraft, is going to change the way people travel within regions thanks to its state-of-the-art cabin, state-of-the-art avionics, exceptional fuel economy, and unparalleled operating capabilities.
