Hundred Days Since Gulfstream Aerospace Gained FAA Type Approval For Gulfstream G700

By Staff Correspondent

Today commemorates 100 days after Gulfstream Aerospace Corp.’s new Gulfstream G700 entered service after receiving FAA type certification on March 29. G700 programme maturity is shown by further certifications, rising flying hours and deliveries worldwide, and city-pair speed records.

The increasing G700 fleet has over 700 flight hours and EASA type certification, as well as type certificate validations from eight jurisdictions, including Mexico.

“We were hoping for a smooth launch of the G700, and the fact that it has gotten off to such a fantastic start shows how well-developed the programme is and how committed the Gulfstream team is,” stated Mark Burns, president of Gulfstream. Customers are taking to the skies in their newly delivered G700s almost immediately after delivery, and the response we’re receiving is nothing short of phenomenal, all because of the investments we made across our company, from R&D to manufacturing and completions.

Connecting Paris to Montreal in 6 hours and 16 minutes and São Paulo to White Plains, New York in 8 hours and 46 minutes, the G700 set new records for city-pair speed, with both routes averaging speeds of Mach 0.90 or higher. Both the Swiss Fédération Aéronautique Internationale and the United States National Aeronautic Association have not yet officially recognized the flights as world records. Nearly sixty-speed records have been achieved by the aircraft.

Assuring operational readiness following certification, Gulfstream Customer Support service teams were incorporated throughout the G700 development and testing programme. As the number of G700 customers’ deliveries rises, these teams are also helping with the smooth transitions.
