In a significant advancement for aviation maintenance, Safran Power Units has appointed ExecuJet MRO Services as an authorized service centre (ASC) for the Safran auxiliary power unit (APU) utilized in the Dassault Falcon 6X. This strategic partnership, which spans across Australia, Malaysia, and Dubai, marks a pivotal moment for ExecuJet, as it is the first instance of the company being designated as an ASC for Safran Power Units. The impetus behind this collaboration is the recent entry into service of the Dassault Falcon 6X, a large-cabin, long-range business jet that epitomizes modern aviation engineering and luxury.
Graeme Duckworth, President of ExecuJet MRO Services, emphasized the significance of this appointment, noting that it aligns with the growing demand for specialized maintenance services for the Falcon 6X’s APU. The Safran SPU150 model APU plays a crucial role in ensuring the aircraft’s operational efficiency and reliability, necessitating a robust and well-equipped service network. ExecuJet’s designation as an ASC is indicative of its commitment to providing top-tier maintenance solutions tailored to the sophisticated needs of modern aircraft.
ExecuJet MRO Services has undertaken substantial investments to prepare for this new responsibility. The company has acquired the necessary tooling and spare parts specific to the Safran APU, ensuring that they are fully equipped to handle a variety of maintenance tasks. The work scope for the Safran APUs encompasses a comprehensive range of services, including line maintenance, component removal and replacement, troubleshooting, and, if necessary, the complete removal and replacement of the APU. This extensive capability underscores ExecuJet’s readiness to support Falcon 6X operators with high-quality maintenance services.
In addition to investing in equipment, ExecuJet MRO Services has prioritized the training of its personnel. Five engineers were sent to Safran’s facility in Toulouse for specialized training, equipping them with the expertise necessary to handle the intricacies of the Safran APU. This commitment to training ensures that ExecuJet’s engineers are not only knowledgeable about the APU’s technical specifications but also adept at adhering to the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance.
As a wholly owned subsidiary of Dassault Aviation, ExecuJet MRO Services boasts world-class maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facilities across Africa, Asia, Australasia, Europe, and the Middle East. These facilities are equipped to conduct major repair and refurbishment activities, all while complying with the most stringent regulatory and safety requirements in the aviation industry. The global reach of ExecuJet MRO Services positions it as a leader in the MRO sector, capable of servicing a diverse array of aircraft, including those from manufacturers such as Bombardier, Embraer, Gulfstream, and Hawker.
The appointment of ExecuJet MRO Services as an authorized service centre for Safran Power Units represents a significant milestone in the support network for the Dassault Falcon 6X. This collaboration not only enhances the maintenance capabilities available to Falcon 6X operators but also underscores ExecuJet’s dedication to excellence in aviation service. With its investment in tooling, spare parts, and specialized training, ExecuJet is poised to deliver exceptional service quality, ensuring the operational integrity and reliability of the Falcon 6X and its auxiliary power units for years to come.
