Request For Information (RFI): Manufacturing Of 23mm Anti-Drone Ammunition By Indian Industry

The Ministry of Defence, Government of India, has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to identify and engage potential manufacturers for the production of 23mm Anti-Drone Ammunition under the “Make in India” initiative. This effort aims to promote domestic defence manufacturing by involving both Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) and private vendors. Interested parties with the requisite expertise and capabilities are invited to respond to this RFI.

The purpose of this RFI is to gather inputs from prospective vendors and shortlist manufacturers capable of meeting the technical, operational, and indigenous content requirements of the project. To this end, the RFI is structured into three distinct parts. The first part specifies the technical parameters of the ammunition, detailing the required standards that the offered product must meet. This ensures that the resulting ammunition aligns with the operational requirements of anti-drone warfare. The second part outlines the conditions for participation, submission guidelines, and the criteria for response evaluation. Vendors must ensure complete and accurate submissions, as incomplete responses may lead to disqualification. Lastly, the third part focuses on guidelines for vendor selection. It emphasizes the necessity for at least 50% indigenous content (IC) in the materials, components, and software, in keeping with India’s commitment to self-reliance in defence production.

This initiative reflects the Ministry’s vision to bolster India’s defence capabilities while fostering domestic industry participation. By inviting Indian enterprises to collaborate on the manufacturing of advanced anti-drone ammunition, the government underscores its commitment to technological innovation and national security. Prospective vendors are encouraged to thoroughly examine the RFI and submit their proposals in alignment with the specified guidelines, thereby contributing to India’s strategic defence objectives.
