Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, the 17th edition of the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX 2025) & NAVDEX 2025 commenced in Abu Dhabi. This year’s event marks a historic milestone, being the largest in its history, with participation from 1,565 companies representing 65 countries—a 16% increase from the previous year. The exhibition underscores the UAE’s growing prominence in the global defence sector while showcasing its commitment to fostering international partnerships and driving innovation in security and defence technologies.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan highlighted the UAE’s remarkable progress in the defence industry, attributing its success to decades of dedication and visionary leadership. With 213 UAE-based companies accounting for 16% of this year’s exhibitors, the event reflects the nation’s strategic focus on bolstering its defence capabilities to safeguard its borders and achievements. His Highness further emphasised that the UAE’s leadership remains steadfast in its commitment to promoting global peace and stability, recognizing these as essential pillars for sustainable development.

Organized by the ADNEC Group in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence and Tawazun Council, IDEX 2025 serves as a global platform for showcasing cutting-edge technologies in land, aerial, and cybersecurity defence, as well as artificial intelligence. The total exhibition area has also expanded by 10% to an impressive 181,501 square meters, underscoring the event’s growing importance as a premier platform for the global defence community.
One of the most remarkable aspects of IDEX 2025 is the surge in first-time participants, with 731 companies joining the event for the first time—an 82% increase over the previous year. This influx of new exhibitors highlights the dynamic evolution of the defence industry and the event’s appeal as a global stage for showcasing cutting-edge technologies and solutions. Notably, 213 UAE-based companies are participating, accounting for 16% of the total exhibitors and reflecting the UAE’s rising prominence as a hub for defence innovation. Additionally, seven countries—Qatar, Ethiopia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, and Cyprus—are making their debut at IDEX, further enriching the event’s international character.
The newly inaugurated Hall 14 is another milestone for IDEX 2025. Hosting 341 exhibitors, this expansion not only accommodates the growing number of participants but also enhances the diversity and scope of the exhibition. India Pavilion Unveiled at NAVDEX 2025
The India Pavilion at NAVDEX 2025 in Abu Dhabi was inaugurated on 17th February 2025 by H.E. Sunjay Sudhir, Ambassador of India to the UAE, in the esteemed presence of Vice Admiral Sanjay Vatsayan, AVSM, NM, Deputy Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (Operations), and Major General C.S. Mann, AVSM, VSM, Additional Director General of the Army Design Bureau. Speaking at the event, Prakash Agarwala, Chairman and Managing Director of Munitions India Limited (MIL), highlighted the significance of the exhibition as a global platform for fostering sustainable partnerships and attracting international investments. Munitions India Limited showcased a cutting-edge range of advanced defence products, including the state-of-the-art Pinaka multiple rocket launch system, hand grenades, low-drag aerial bombs, and large-calibre ammunition such as 155mm artillery shells. Agarwala underscored the importance of NAVDEX 2025 as one of the foremost global events in naval defence and military technology, bringing together leading international defence firms and serving as a hub for exploring innovative advancements in the sector.
