ST Engineering Secures Exclusive Contract With Akasa Air For LEAP-1B Engine Maintenance

The recent announcement from ST Engineering concerning a 15-year exclusive maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) contract with Akasa Air marks a significant milestone in the aviation industry, particularly within the Indian market. Under this contract, ST Engineering will perform the first Performance Restoration Shop Visit (PRSV) at its state-of-the-art aerospace facility in Singapore. This scope of work encompasses not only Akasa Air’s existing fleet of 25 Boeing 737 MAX but also extended support for an additional 201 aircraft scheduled for delivery over the next eight years. With a freshly acquired capability for testing LEAP-1B engines, ST Engineering is well-positioned to enhance operational efficiencies for Akasa Air, ensuring long-term growth and sustainability for the airline.
